Oil on linen 70x50cm (27.6x19.7x0.8in) 2024, ready to hang.
“Enchanted wood” is an artwork I started painting after making some research on Alan Alexander Milne and Winnie the Poo. Soon I felt so involved in his tales that I decided to paint a dream situation which could recall them. The toy bear in the painting represents childhood, which comforts the old man and helps him cope with memories and desires. This artwork is a homage to childhood and a call to consider the importance of memories of the past in everyday life. I chose a picture of a northern European wood to represent the enchanted wood, and added a colourful pattern to the ground and blu cobalt to the sky, to make it look magic. The artwork is stretched on a supported wooden canvas and the sides are painted, too, so you can hang it on your wall without framing it (at your own discretion).
