In this painting I have aimed to capture the sense of mystery present within the natural world, which is acutely tangible in moonlight. I am fortunate as an artist to live next to many acres of woodland, where I walk and sketch at all times of day and evening throughout the year. This painting expresses my feelings of awe and observations of changing light, colour and tree forms at dusk which gradually become silhouettes while I pass through this magical landscape as night beckons.
