This portrait is more recent than my other expressionist portraits. Here, I let the woman's face occupy almost all the available space, leaving only two narrow stripes at the sides for her hair, as I wanted a larger surface of skin to paint.
The technique used here is quite realistic. All the colors are part of a palette I would typically use for a more classic style portrait. I painted this piece with bold brushstrokes, following the light and shadow on the face to place them on the canvas. The colors are warm and vibrant.
