This captivating oil painting features the expressive face of a clown, conveying a sense of joy and playfulness. The clown, depicted with a wide, infectious smile, is adorned with vibrant face paint, including blue and red accents that highlight the cheekbones and lips. His tousled, dark greenish hair adds to his whimsical character. Dressed in an orange jacket with a bright yellow shirt peeking through, the clown exudes a cheerful and spirited vibe. The background is a soft, light color, enhancing the focal point of the laughing clown while evoking a sense of lightness and happiness.
This artwork would be a perfect addition to a children's playroom or a family-friendly environment, such as a daycare center or a pediatric office. It can serve as a conversation starter, bringing a cheerful ambiance to spaces designed for happiness and creativity. Additionally, it could also fit well in comedic venues or theaters, invoking laughter and joy among patrons. Consider placing the painting in an area with good lighting to emphasize the vibrant colors and the joyful expression of the clown, enhancing the mood of any room.
Oil on linen 28x38x2cm (11x15x0.8in) 2021, ready to hang. This artwork is the first of a series of self portaits which I painted during the pandemic. Being in my studio without the possibility of seeing people and work with models gave me the chance to look into myself and work on my technique. Here you have the highly detailed and realistic version of my self portrait, the last one I painted in the series and the first I present to the public. The colour palette I used for this painting drives to the blue, matching the clean light blue of the background. “Self portrait as a joker n.2” is a 28x38cm oil on linen artwork, stretched on a wooden frame and ready to hang.
