This captivating artwork features two intertwined figures, created with a delicate touch using soft, flowing lines. The background is a gentle blend of pastel tones, giving the piece a dreamy and ethereal quality. The figures exhibit subtle expressions, showcasing an intimate connection, while their positions convey a sense of movement and harmony. The use of light colors, particularly soft pinks and purples, evokes feelings of tenderness and warmth. The piece invites viewers to reflect on themes of love and human connection, making it a striking focal point in any space. This painting would be ideal for a serene bedroom, a tranquil reading nook, or a peaceful meditation space. Its soothing color palette and emotive subject matter would enhance the ambiance of the room, creating an inviting and contemplative atmosphere.
I work in a mixed technique where fluid layers of acrylic and then oils interweave with outlines crisply drawn with Pierre Noire or crayon, probing the pull between control and surrender. The resulting artworks can be displayed in all directions, as their story is one of constant flux and cyclical time. I aim for a continuous quality where nothing has an endpoint, and one movement flows into the next, like a ribbon. Since every figure depicted is a real person in my life featured in multiple works created over the course of decades, I also see this imagery as an exploration of the concept of reincarnation: “Every lifetime, we meet the same circle of souls, to say thank you or to say sorry, and once again exchange our roles.”
