This captivating artwork features two intertwining figures submerged in a serene aquatic environment, embodying a harmonious blend of color and form. The figures are depicted with gentle, fluid lines, creating a sense of movement and intimacy. Their skin tones are painted in soft, pale hues, contrasting beautifully against the vibrant turquoise background, which evokes the tranquility of water. One figure has a distinctive spiral design, adding an element of whimsy and depth to the composition. The expressive facial features, with subtle eyes and slightly parted mouths, convey a sense of connection and emotion, inviting viewers to explore the relationship between the two portrayed individuals. The overall composition exudes a sense of peace and fluidity, making it a perfect accent for contemplative spaces.
This painting would be an ideal addition to spaces dedicated to relaxation and introspection, such as a meditation room, bedroom, or yoga studio. Its calming colors and lyrical forms promote a serene atmosphere, inviting viewers to pause and reflect. Placing it above a minimalist console or a soft, neutral-colored sofa will enhance the tranquil vibe of the environment.
My most recent paintings are direct multidisciplinary collaborations between myself, a classically-trained experimental violinist and a sound healer: We draw upon the studies of cymatics, which uses a physical medium to give graphic representation to soundwaves. I pour initial layers of ink onto panels and allow patterns to form freely as a function of transmitted vibrations, which are a combination of live music and vocalized healing frequencies. Subsequently, I continue working on these marbled substrata while listening to audio tracks of the same. Together, we aim to translate the intricate world of patterns, rhythms, and frequencies that constitute the essence of sound into a painted experience.
