This captivating image showcases a serene water scene with a tranquil pathway of stones leading into the calm lake, set against a backdrop of dramatic skies. The gentle ripples of the water reflect the deep blues and grays of the overcast sky, creating a moody yet calming atmosphere. The composition invites viewers to imagine walking along the stones, creating a sense of peace and contemplation. The horizon stretches into the distance, hinting at a world beyond, perfect for those seeking a moment of reflection.
This painting can beautifully enhance various interior spaces, such as a living room or meditation area, where it can inspire tranquility and mindfulness. Additionally, it would fit well in a modern office environment, providing a calming backdrop for productivity. Its calming colors can pair elegantly with neutral or warm-toned furnishings, creating a harmonious balance in the decor.
This image was taken in summer 2021. This place is located only 15 minutes drive from my home. The weather forecast had announced thunderstorm over Lake Geneva that evening. Right after work, I packed my camera and tripod and headed to the lake. I had one specific image in mind when I arrived at the lake. I wanted to capture a thunder light with the clouds moving. To get that image, I made a long exposure shot. The camera needed to stay open for more than a minute so it was necessary to use a tripod. But the challenge was the storm as it was coming over us very quickly. At the end, I had less than 20 minutes to capture it!
