This captivating artwork features two intertwined figures, softly rendered with a palette dominated by rich purples and subtle pinks. The forms are abstract yet suggestive of human intimacy, with the faces elegantly merging into one another. The fluidity of the lines creates a sense of movement and connection, evoking themes of love and unity. The background is a deep red, adding warmth and depth to the overall composition, while the pale hues of the figures contrast beautifully against it, drawing the viewer's eye. The use of soft brush strokes and gentle transitions between colors adds a dreamlike quality to the painting, inviting contemplation on the nature of relationships. This artwork would be a stunning addition to a bedroom or a personal retreat space, where it can enhance the atmosphere of intimacy and serenity. Its emotive composition and color palette make it perfect for environments meant to inspire reflection and connection. It can also serve as a remarkable focal point in a contemporary living room or art gallery setting, where its expressive nature can be fully appreciated by visitors.
My work is born out of a specific, but quite diverse community: The models depicted are artist peers across all ages, ethnic origins, and orientations belonging to the Brooklyn arts collective/residency platform I’ve been running for a decade+. My painting studio also serves as a presentation arena for experimental co-productions spanning multiple creative disciplines. And so, my images are typically shared with the public within a live art setting, where dancers, musicians, and acrobats —often the very same people portrayed in my imagery— perform alongside and in dialog with my paintings.
