This vibrant painting showcases a lush green landscape adorned with a beautifully detailed arch, suggesting a landmark nestled in nature. The arch is intricately designed, suggesting classical architecture, and is framed by an abundance of verdant foliage. The rich greens of the trees and plants bring a fresh, lively atmosphere to the piece, while the soft, warm background enhances the overall peaceful vibe. The use of bold brush strokes and splashes of color infuse the canvas with energy, capturing the essence of a serene moment in nature.
This painting would be a stunning addition to a living room, study, or hallway, adding a touch of elegance and a connection to nature. Its vibrant colors and detailed composition can serve as a focal point, creating a serene atmosphere that invites relaxation and contemplation.
Andrea Imwiehe works in a combination of acrylic painting and line drawing, the lines being cut directly into the acrylic paint and thus forming a sunken relief. The pictures of Andrea Imwiehe are reminiscent images that feed out of their own memory but go beyond them. Their concern is to create an atmosphere through painting. “Inspiration for the image series that have been created since 2012 is a slide collection that she has received from her parents, on which she saw herself playing as a child. The view focuses on nature at its feet and in the immediate surroundings. Because of the slides, I first tried to catch places where I stopped as a child and track them by photographing them and then working in the pictures.” So it's about memories? “Not directly for memories. Rather about the question of what memories are triggering. If, for example, I see a brick wall from a factory where weeds break up the ground and grow up on the wall, then it triggers with me a deep feeling of joy, where others might think that this is totally ugly. And this feeling of joy depends exactly on such unconscious memories that are from childhood. So we react to something we see, smell or hear, with certain feelings, because it reminds us of something. And the sources of this sudden feeling, these triggers I investigate with my painting.”
