This vibrant artwork showcases a stylized depiction of a famous amphitheater, with intricate details bringing the architecture to life. The coliseum's impressive structure is illustrated in a bold, colorful manner, featuring rich hues of red and orange complemented by a contrasting background of lively cityscapes and lush greenery. The surrounding areas are adorned with abstract patterns that evoke a sense of bustling life, hinting at a vibrant atmosphere filled with people and activity. The dynamic lines and textures create a sense of movement and excitement, making it not just a representation of the coliseum, but an invitation into the history and stories that dwell within its walls. The artist’s technique emphasizes a modern interpretation while maintaining respect for the ancient architecture, using bright color schemes to evoke feelings of enthusiasm and wonder. It's a piece that captures both the grandeur and the everyday life that surrounds this iconic landmark, making it a remarkable addition to any collection. This painting can beautifully enhance various interior spaces, including living rooms, dining areas, or even offices. Its vivid colors and lively composition create a focal point that draws attention and ignites conversation. Ideal for environments seeking to embody creativity and cultural appreciation, it would work well in modern or eclectic décors, as well as offices in need of inspiration and energy. Hanging this piece above a sofa or a large desk can infuse the space with vibrancy and charm, making it a delightful backdrop for social gatherings or work settings.
Rome, Italy: Tough air for the pretence of an urban view 344 (Rome) - tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini: With this artwork I pay homage to Pier Paolo Pasolini through the re-elaboration and figurative transposition of the poem “Nell’accecante penombra invernale”, written in 1950 as part of the collection “Roman Poems”. In addition to that, I chose to represent the director’s most loved city, Rome, where he lived for many years, and which gives its name to the poetry collection. The metric of the poem has been utilized to determine spatial and architectural values of the painting and is also added as a figurative element of the landscape. I created a temporal white line with poetical intervals (that is to say, lines of poetry) defining the course and structure of the line with some values taken from the structure of the poem itself. The poem being written in hendecasyllables, the temporal line is 11:00 creative minutes long, with regular intervals every 0.44 seconds – given by the division of the 11 minutes by the 15 lines of the poetic text. The line and the intervals have then been drawn on the 1-9-5 quadrants, which are the digits of the date in which the poem has been written (1950). Every interval contains a citation of the poem written in yellow in my artwork, so that the temporal line and the intervals intertwine and mix with the Roman landscape, thus creating a new unique architecture.
