This striking artwork features a confident female figure, exuding a sense of empowerment and modernity. She wears a unique, golden-hued outfit that combines texture and movement, implying waves of fabric that drape gracefully. Her striking sunglasses add a contemporary flair, while her bold hairstyle, with large, round puffs, juxtaposes beautifully against the vibrant, circular backdrop she supports. This backdrop showcases a rich turquoise color adorned with hints of gold, suggesting an otherworldly quality and drawing attention to the figure's grace and strength. The soft, abstract background enhances the subject, providing a serene yet dynamic atmosphere.
This painting would be an extraordinary addition to a contemporary living room or a striking focal point in a fashion boutique, emphasizing modern design and artistic flair. It could also enhance an office space, inspiring creativity and confidence.
In this modern Atlas, the burden of the weight of the world is carried with lightness and humour, the best armour to be had for the realisation of goals and dreams. | This piece incorporates a nearly extinct, highly secretive, 17th century scagliola marble making technique, in which marble dust, animal glue and pigments are mixed to create the marbling effect. Scagliola is found in most churches and buildings built until the modern age. I am drawn to the technique as an addition to resin (which gives a beautiful high gloss) as I particularly enjoy working with natural materials, as well as the satin-matte finish and feel of real stone. | These definitions of armour, revisioned with a contemporary perspective and constructed through a historical lens, become art that emboldens with a power not of this world. |   Inspired in part by Schubert's "Himmelsfunken" with poetry by Johann Peter Silbert from 1819: |   The breath of God blows gently, | and silently, longing awakens; | the intoxicated heart faints | in wonderfully sweet agony...
