This artwork features a striking, minimalist figure drawn in continuous white lines against a textured background of warm golden tones. The figure is depicted in a seated pose, highlighting curves and fluidity, which evokes a sense of intimacy and vulnerability. The background is infused with subtle, abstract patterns and faint textural elements, contributing to the layered depth of the piece. The warm palette of gold and ochre evokes feelings of warmth and comfort, while the simplicity of the line drawing invites contemplation and connection.
This painting would complement a variety of interior spaces. It can serve as a focal point in a living room, adding an elegant touch to modern decor. Alternatively, it would be suitable for a cozy reading nook, offering a soothing atmosphere. The warm colors make it ideal for a bedroom, creating a harmonious and inviting space, or it can enhance an office setting by adding creativity and inspiration to the environment.
The artist coöperated with the poet Joop Alleblas. She used his Dutch poem 'Maybe I love you too' as inspiration for this continuous line drawing. The poem is about a love scene on the beach. Fragment: I clearly remember your soprano echo when you still spontaneously carved hearts in trees and I woke up every morning with your name on my lips and your buttocks in my hands I remember the wobbling of your breasts in the red evening sun on a deserted beach and how the sand crunched between our teeth maybe you loved me too, that's how you said it Ships sank on the horizon, sublunar my wishes dangled by gossamer threads a salty breeze came over my goosebumps the hair thin curtains before your closed eyes which you opened lazily and you said it again and how that centuries later still felt like a sour prelude for unfulfilled desire [...] The painting has sand in the details as a reference to the beach. The artwork is painted on the sides so there is no need for a frame. The artwork is ready to hang.
