This striking artwork features a modern architectural structure set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop. The building, characterized by its angular lines and minimalist form, boasts a combination of earthy tones and muted pastels, harmonizing perfectly with the serene winter landscape. Surrounding the structure are snow-covered fields and a sparse forest, painted with a mix of white and light greens, which evoke a sense of tranquility. The peaks of the mountains, depicted in soft greys, rise majestically in the background, further enhancing the overall depth of the scene. This composition beautifully captures the interplay between human design and nature, making it an ideal piece for contemporary spaces.
This painting would work beautifully in modern living rooms, minimalist office spaces, or even as a focal point in a hallway. Its calming colors and structured form can enhance the ambiance of contemporary interiors, making it perfect for spaces that aim to convey a sense of balance and sophistication.
Andrea Imwiehe works in a combination of acrylic painting and line drawing, the lines being cut directly into the acrylic paint and thus forming a sunken relief. The pictures of Andrea Imwiehe are reminiscent images that feed out of their own memory but go beyond them. Their concern is to create an atmosphere through painting. “Inspiration for the image series that have been created since 2012 is a slide collection that she has received from her parents, on which she saw herself playing as a child. The view focuses on nature at its feet and in the immediate surroundings. Because of the slides, I first tried to catch places where I stopped as a child and track them by photographing them and then working in the pictures.” So it's about memories? “Not directly for memories. Rather about the question of what memories are triggering. If, for example, I see a brick wall from a factory where weeds break up the ground and grow up on the wall, then it triggers with me a deep feeling of joy, where others might think that this is totally ugly. And this feeling of joy depends exactly on such unconscious memories that are from childhood. So we react to something we see, smell or hear, with certain feelings, because it reminds us of something. And the sources of this sudden feeling, these triggers I investigate with my painting.”
