I’m a mixed media abstract artist and I was born in Paris, but I grew up on a beach in Sierra Leone. I have also lived in Mali, La Réunion and Hungary, before settling in Munich, Germany. My life and travels in Africa have deeply impacted my artistic and social identity. I started painting abstract artworks in 2021, when I realised that I needed a creative outlet to help me deal with the daily challenges that come with living in our current world and environment - as a neurodiverse woman with past trauma, a burnt-out working mother, an uprooted expat and a citizen of the world with social and ecological expectations. Painting is my favourite form of meditation. I forget time and space and use this state of flow to express my emotions and let go of perfection. Embracing my creative self is a journey where I keep learning and growing, and which I welcome you to follow! I find peace and serenity in the rhythm of the ebb and flow; the connection with water appeases me - a phenomenon known as “blue mind”. I recognise myself in the duality of the ocean, dynamic and meditative, energetic and tranquil, deep and light, vast and intimate. My work aims at bringing these contrasts together and at creating balance and harmony, so that the canvas becomes a reflection of my inner world. I create pieces that operate at multiple levels simultaneously: decorative yet profound, abstract yet evocative, contemporary yet timeless. My art offers both immediate visual impact and sustained engagement, rewarding repeated viewing with new discoveries of detail and depth.
