I studied first at Sofia Art High School, and later graduated from the Art Academy, major-
ing in Illustration and Book Design | My output includes numerous covers and illustra-
tions for children's and adult books | I have more than 30 years of experience working in
advertising agencies as a graphic designer, and as Art and Creative Director | I matured
in an artistic environment of broad-minded people and among many, many friends |
Inspired by beautiful objects and the aesthetics of design, I created many paintings with
watercolor and acrylic paints in my favorite format – the square | I have had one-man
shows in 1993; 1997, 2005, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020 in Sofia and
Varvara | Alongside the paintings, I was drawn to producing something three-dimen-
sional, something that one can experience with closed eyes... | I focused on fish and
birds made of wood, enriched with metalwork, glass, plastics, and radiant acrylic colors |
Expanding on these sculptures, I also added bizarre faces executed with the same mate-
rials | Most of these creations were exhibited in one-man shows in 2020, 2021, 2022,
and 2023, and many are now in private collections | I am happy with what I do because I
am confident that it brings joy to hundreds of people all around the world.
A series of faces, a little whimsical, a little abstract, pensive, bedecked with metal
fittings, watches and glass eyes.
All are assembled from wooden pieces and joined with metal plates and screws.
Expressions are highlighted with acrylic paints and markers.
