Laszlo Toth - Alias "Totysseus" is a painter, draftsman and conceptual artist with classical training who works between haptic materiality and analytical structure, inspired by an early influence from a student of Oskar Kokoschka. His technique combines impasto, reduced pastel paintings, precisely placed color fields, collages and large-format acrylic paintings to create organically fragmented pictorial spaces, often in series and embedded in his concept of futuromanticism. With his works he conveys a sensual reflection on fragmentation and compression and invites you to silently perceive complex connections - full of tension, attention and poetic depth.
The Splinter Beings series explores fragmented perception and atmospheric depth. Each work has an SWL catalog number and is part of an ongoing cycle that I develop, document and continue on the blog pages of "Totysseus.space" under my artist name Totysseus.
