Uwe Fehrmann was born in East Berlin in 1962, in the former GDR. Even his early childhood was characterized by intensive painting and drawing. In his youth he was trained in the "Otto-Nagel-Haus" in nude and still lifes as well as in various techniques of painting and drawing. A little later he was a member of an artist group in Berlin-Pankow, did an internship as a restorer in the "Nationalgalerie Berlin" and worked as an exhibition assistant. After graduating from high school, Uwe Fehrmann studied at the "Humboldt University" in Berlin. In order to avoid lack of freedom and censorship in the GDR, he fled the German Embassy in Prague to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1984. 1985 - 1986, Uwe Fehrmann worked as a visual artist at the NDR Hamburg and in the Studio Hamburg, especially for theater, film and television, e.g. Cats in Hamburg. Uwe Fehrmann has been a full -time artist in Hamburg since 1987. Study trips took him to Italy and France. 1987 - Today the artist works on various art projects and mostly large -format paintings at home and abroad, including Germany, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland. Some of his pictures deal with his social experiences in the GDR and have been exhibited several times by the Federal BStU authority, in 2012 the Berlin Mauer Berlin Foundation bought the reconstruction painting. In 2011, Uwe Fehrmann exhibited together with Bernhard Heisig, Gudrun Brüne, Johannes Heisig and Antoinette in the English Church in Bad Homburg. 2012 - 2014 Single exhibitions on the topic "The thoughts are free" in Berlin, Leipzig and Frankfurt -or in the BStU - the Federal Commissioner for the Documents of the State Security Service of the former German Democratic Republic. 2012 purchase by the "Foundation Berlin Mauer" Berlin In 2014, Uwe Fehrmann received the art prize of the Werner-Viktor-Totflin Foundation in the Red City Hall of Berlin for its painting Fata Morgana-Energy cloud, which is now owned by the Picture Collection of the Stadtmuseum Berlin.
