Fabien Delaube is an award-winning sculptor and painter whose works have been exhibited in France, Belgium, Canada and China. The French artist is fascinated by the symbol of the mask, the mask that everyone wears and what they hide. The mirror effect conveyed through Delaube's pieces enhances the true nature of his subjects. He often begins his compositions with acrylic paints and ends with oils, patina and paste. | « Painting has become an obsession for me. Representing sultry, graceful or flayed souls, overwhelming emotions that inhabit us all one day or another. » | Born in Bordeaux in 1973, he took courses in photography and audiovisual before finally turning to fine art and decoration. Various applied arts schools in Bordeaux will shape this creative spirit for 5 years. In 1996 he returned to the Opéra de Bordeaux, where he worked as a decorator for two years. In 1998 he sharpened his art by taking trompe l'oeil lessons with the Compagnons du Tour de France. While trompe l'oeil no longer holds any secrets for him, he continues to attend courses in live modeling at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bordeaux. He currently works as a decorator and exhibits his paintings between his home region and Paris.
