Monika Herschberger studied painting at the Vienna Art School and continued her education at the University of Applied Arts and studied jazz singing at the conservatory. Since 2001 her focus has been on fine art with exhibitions in Austria, Germany and Hungary. In 2019 she took part in the 14th International Symposium for Art in the Studio on the Danube. Her works are in private collections around the world. In her abstract paintings she translates spontaneous thoughts and inner impulses with powerful gestures, striking lines and passion for material, color and pen. Acrylic paint mixes with pastels and striking lines, which she often sets to music. The colors of the seasons are also a source of inspiration. A special feature of Monika's painting is the sometimes playful lightness, sometimes a long, conscious process in which layer by layer is applied to the image support. The inclusion of the pen in the painterly works is a stylistic feature of her art.
