This visually striking artwork showcases the intricate and symmetrical structure of tree roots, presented with an artistic flair that turns the natural element upside down. The stark contrast between the delicate, intricately branched roots and the simple, neutral background enhances the visual impact, inviting viewers to appreciate the complexity of nature from a fresh perspective. The detailed textures of the roots evoke a sense of organic beauty, emphasizing nature's hidden wonders and creating a thought-provoking dialogue about life, growth, and resilience. The overall composition conveys a calm yet profound mood, making it a perfect piece for reflection and conversation.
This painting would work beautifully in various interior settings, such as a modern living room, a serene office space, or a minimalist gallery wall. Its neutral colors and subtle details allow it to complement a wide range of décor styles, from contemporary to rustic, making it versatile for both residential and commercial spaces. Hanging it in areas where contemplation or relaxation occurs can enhance the atmosphere, encouraging viewers to connect with nature's beauty.
Different sizes in the Din A1 format 59,4 x 84 cm and 160 x 115 cm | The series “Tree Crowns” was awarded as Gold Winner at the Tokyo International Photo Awards in 2018. In 2017, she received the 1st place of the expert jury at the FIX Photo Awards in London. In 2015 she won the audience award at the 125LIVE Awards supported by Olympus in London. In 2015, she was added to the Kolga Award in Tbilisi, Georgia to the selection Best Photos of the Year. In addition, she received 10 additional honorable ments for top-class and international photo competitions. This photograph impresses with a special attention to detail and closeness. It is assembled from 25 – 35 individual recordings. The number of recordings depends on the size of the tree. This results in a witness of an encounter over a period of time, compared to a snapshot in a conventional photography. The appearance of the tree remains unaffected. With this special technique, Christoph Franke wants to transfer the energy of the nature tree into the photo. Christoph composes the treetops “top standing” in order to invite the viewer to an encounter with the nature tree, instead of classifying them – as usual – in common experiences and expectations. It fascinates the appearance of the trees in winter with their network of branches extending from the inside to the outside.
