The shoe in the chains
I found this truck in a parking lot near the city of Rawalpindi, which is very close to the capital Islamabad.
This vehicle definitely has character. I deliberately allowed the stones on the left-hand side of the picture to prevent the vehicle from rolling away and this shoe, which has become caught, also tells a story. Did the driver perhaps deliberately run someone over and this flip-flop convicts the driver? On some trucks, the drivers were still sitting in their cabs, sometimes the doors were open, but this truck appealed to me because of these beautiful color surfaces and the rich decorations in the upper area. These pennants and cloths are supposed to drive away evil spirits on the roads. When the truck starts moving, they swing beautifully in the wind.
Just like the little bells that can be found on the front of almost every vehicle. I was always amazed that the drivers could even see out of the car because of all the decorations and stickers. If you look closely, you can also see the jammed blue cleaning bucket, because the vehicle has just been trimmed to a high gloss. What always amazes me about these vehicles is the creative decoration, because the surfaces and dimensions of the vehicle actually always remain the same. Perhaps the driver is also of Jewish descent, as I can make out two Jewish stars in the upper area. The small chains at the bottom are nicely graduated in color and the Pakistanis only use ten different colors for their reflective foils, which are glued to the upper area.
I'm sure some art lovers are wondering how I choose the individual trucks. It's almost always intuitive.
