Matthias Barth

München
Matthias Barth is an autodidactic photographer who translates his own visions of the world into pictures of epic dimensions. Although he mainly lives in Munich today, his journey through the viewfinder has expanded and developed for an international journey of discovery. Known for his versatile portfolio, Barth captures the essence of natural landscapes and urban jungles, inspiring his extensive trips and transforming ordinary scenes into extraordinary visual stories. Barth rediscovered the world through its cameras and uses a unique mix of analog and digital techniques - from traditional film techniques to mastery of drone photography and post -production. Barth's style has developed dramatically and will continue to do so. His style is not singular, but experimental and constantly changing to correspond to the energy and impressions of his motifs. Barth's approach often leads to photographs that are to the surreal boundaries. In connection with his pronounced sense of light, he manipulates his photographs to grasp the world from different perspectives. His work lives from the fact that he incorporates a variety of funds, methods and motifs into his practice. From motorways that stretch out into nothing, to lonely palm trees in the desert - the act of travel and collecting this unique look at our world proves to be lonely. His work shows the duality of the adventure: on the one hand the reverent majesty and curiosity, on the other the deep insulation and loneliness. In this liminality, he immerses in places, cultures and experiences that seem strange to us. He finds the sublime in everyday life. Barth's sharp eye reveals the unique visual language of a room, be it in nature or in the busy metropolis, and reveals the bizarre and surreal elements that exist among us. In his series "Trucks.13", these Pakistani vehicles are raised from mere transport to objects of sculpture, architecture and aesthetics. Selected on site, Barth scans its shapes with a special panoramic head and digitally removes all backgrounds, so that the astonishing, colorful, colorful and unusual nature of every truck is removed from the banality of everyday life and focused on. When our travel guide invites us to overlooked and hidden corners of cities, catches up with human impossible views of the natural world, shows nuanced facets of different cultures and emphasizes the beauty and strangeness of what can be incorrectly described as common. Barth's creative philosophy is based on the universality of photography that overcomes barriers to language, culture and social constructions. As an adventurer, he creates a community to share his experiences with other travelers and artists. He finds the beauty in the challenge of his travels, shares the thrill of the trip and the inherent loneliness that she can cause. Through his art, Matthias Barth constructs an unconventional series of epic images that ask the viewer to see and experience the world around him again. He invites him to question his relationship to reality and appreciate the surreal beauty that is below the surface.
