The German photographer Klaus Lenzen has been working intensively on photography for over ten years. He lives in Ratingen, a neighboring town of Düsseldorf. The representation of structures, forms and colors in a minimalistic, reduced way are his favorite subject. His works are characterized by the concentration on the essentials, nothing should distract the viewer from the motif. He sometimes emphasizes the minimalism of his works by underlining them with gray tones. In contrast to his minimalist pictures, he occasionally makes excursions into the design of large-format, colorful collages. In doing so, he artfully combines numerous individual photos of the same motif. Many of his pictures have been awarded international photo prizes. The successes at the SONY WORLD PHOTGRAPHY AWARDS deserve special mention. In 2018 and 2021 he won one category each in the Open Competition, in 2023 one of his photo series was shortlisted in the Professional Competition.
