This striking black and white painting captures a serene coastal landscape, showcasing a tranquil waterfront scene. The foreground features rugged rocks that lead the viewer’s eye into the smooth, glassy waters of the sea, which reflects the soft, diffused light of the atmosphere. In the distance, charming, weathered houses dot the shoreline, exuding a sense of rustic charm. Alongside, a solitary lighthouse stands sentinel, guiding seafarers with its beacon, framed against a soft yet dynamic sky. The entire composition conveys a sense of calmness and solitude, with the interplay of shadows and light creating depth and atmosphere.

This painting would make an excellent addition to a coastal-themed interior, such as a beach house, a nautical-inspired living room, or even a tranquil hallway. It can serve as a focal point above a mantelpiece, or as part of a gallery wall that complements other marine art or black and white photographs, enhancing the serene and sophisticated ambiance in the space.

"Midnight Mass" – A Haunting Glimpse in My "Gotham City" Series

August 2020 – a rainy day and restless energy drove me to explore the eerie, transformed landscape of Steveston, Vancouver.

The normally quiet waterfront had become a ghost town, fenced off for the filming of Netflix’s "Midnight Mass." Once vibrant, the area was now dominated by desolate "beach cottages" and fake power lines, with only security guards standing watch. Kenny Sue’s tweet hinted at the strange transformation, and I couldn’t resist capturing the haunting vibe.

In post-production, I brought the scene to life with a dark, cinematic touch—flickering cabin lights, ghostly street lamps, and fog creeping along the rain-soaked beach. The result is an atmospheric blend of eerie stillness and unsettling energy, perfectly suited for my "Gotham City" series.
