Story & Message: Rather than looking for a thing that you can imagine yourself becoming, wouldn’t it be wiser to find the thing that you cannot imagine yourself not becoming? From my project “Mind Games”: There’s an event in your life (or an absence of an event). The event is experienced by you through a filter. You interpret it according to your beliefs, thought patterns, social background, and personal life troubles and joys. Your mind creates an image of the event for you. This image causes an emotion inside. The emotion then triggers some kind of reaction. You do something in response to the event. And it’s an eternal chain of consequences, the eternal pyramid of mind constructs. What if the chain is broken? Then there’s a chance for a new beginning. When the mind thinks it knows, it creates a story. When it doesn’t know it gets confused. There’s no story to tell. And for a brief moment, there’s a possibility to see the truth independent of the mind.

Helsinki
Dasha Pears is a visual artist living in Helsinki, Finland. Her art started with her photography enthusiasm in 2010, which grew into a distinctive and recognizable “psychorealistic” style that you see today. “My art is about everything that is going on in our sometimes obsessive minds and what we are often afraid to accept. It’s meditative, calming, and organized so that you look at it you could take a breath of fresh air, relax and know that there’s never right and wrong, it’s all a part of the eternal mystery of life.“ Dasha has been exhibiting her creations all over the world from the US and Mexico to numerous countries in Europe to Asia and Australia. Her psychorealistic artworks reside in multiple renowned private collections in cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris, Zurich, Milan, Amsterdam, Madrid, London, Hong Kong, and Melbourne.
