Batman stands amidst ruins | Fallen from the Sky (2009 - 2015) is a series of Oscar Seco paintings: between social criticism and still life, these surreal scenarios - colossal birds and ruins appropriated by the baroque artists Snyders, Claesz or Chardin - run as bombs fall into buildings. The artist limits his use of his usual bright colors to using only black and white and derived color ranges.
The result is photographic and documentary. The literary references in this series are to the cycle of apocalyptic novels by J.G. Ballard as novels like Mihail Bulgakov's "The Fatal Eggs" or "Food of the Gods" by H.G. wells
The Museo Nacional Reina Sofía, Madrid (National Museum of Queen Sofía) and the Museo DA2 Domus Artium, Salamanca have already presented Oscar Seco's paintings. His works were included in other international museums and collections....
