The tropics, a place on earth that many people dream of. A very mild climate, conducive to life, lush vegetation, amazing animal species, some of which are still unknown, but also cheerful, catchy music, intoxicating scents and warm colours at every street corner. The artist has laid down on the canvas all these powerful sensations that tropical places provide, in a cocktail of colours, movement and transparencies which gives this work an energetic, warm and mysterious aspect. The tropics represent for the artist the terrestrial equivalent of the underwater depths, populated by living species of shapes, sizes and colours at the limit of the imaginable, a mythical and yet very real world.
