Victor Hagea uses the means of traditional painting, both stylistically and technically. Conceptually, he goes in the direction of surrealism, but would like to separate from the "fog fields of a certain kind of alienation from reality". Hagea does not count himself among the trompe-l'oeil "ists", since he used this type of illusionistic painting only as one means among many others. Victor Hagea graduated from the High School of Fine Arts in Târgu Mures. He graduated from the Academy of Fine and Decorative Arts in Cluj, majoring in painting. In January 1985 Hagea moved to Germany and between 1991 and 2004 worked as a lecturer in design theory, design techniques, drawing and illustration. Between 2004 and 2014 he was a lecturer at the Academy for Fashion and Design in Munich.
