A new work on architecture designed by Aldo Loris Rossi in the 1970s by an iconic building, La Casa del Portuale. The motif is taken from below to highlight its constructive strength. The volumes composed of curved shapes, which alternate with straight sections of concrete, create shadow areas that emphasize the shapes. The artist once again pays special attention to the design details and uses a mixing technique with acrylic colors and some colour pencils. Despite the fact that it is made of reinforced concrete, its representation fixes a moment of evening light, which makes the construction warm and contrasts with the gray/turquoise background. A real homage by the artist to the modernity and utopian architecture of the famous Neapolitan architect.

ITALIEN
Manuel Di Chiara is an Italian painter born in Ischia in 1976. The artist works in Naples and his painting work is fueled by everything urban. |
Between Neopop and Industrial |
Manuel di Chiara graduated from the SS. Apostoli art school in Naples and then continued his studies at the Royal Neapolitan Academy of Fine Arts. His career alternates between commissioned works and exhibitions in national and international art galleries. His painting is between neo-pop and an "industrial" style, inspired by the works of American and northern European artists of the 20th century
Urban painting |
The common thread that runs through his works, which are painted almost exclusively in acrylic, is the urban theme. The series is about depicting different topics, but they always belong to the same universe: the city. The colors are bright, the brushstrokes decisive and the depiction of details is meticulous, at times almost photographic. His motifs range from iconic cars to architecture to harbor scenes. It is a modern painting that fits perfectly into the contemporary artistic context. |
National recognition |
Manuel Di Chiara has successfully exhibited in Italian, German, Swiss and North American art galleries.
