The journey to the painting site with all the oil paints and the large canvas was exhausting, but it was worth it. I was immediately fascinated by the abundance of bright poppies covering the slope of the cliff. I was lucky that a windless day allowed me to set up the easel right on the coastline. Using a palette knife, I applied the oil paints impasto and expressively. These strong color textures give the painting plasticity and depth. The oil painting brings joy and energy into a room. The edges are kept white and a steel cable ensures secure hanging. My signature is on the front.
