I found this boat on the coast of the Danish island of Ærø and set up my easel there. Its shape created a point of calm in the landscape and I liked the contrast between the red color of the boat and the late summer green of the vegetation. I captured the light impressionistically with bold brushstrokes. For me, the picture has a calm, contemplative aura. The edges are painted and a steel cable provides a good suspension.
