The work “human cubes 144” consists of over 144 cubes of maple and walnut wood. | Each individual cube was exactly sawed by Manfred Hellweger, the edges were ground and connected to the following cube with beech wood dowels, glue and forces. A 1mm thick stainless steel rope is used as a suspension of the sculpture in the steel frame. | Similar to the sculpture series “human flow” or “human nails”, Hellweger also creates a whole range from many individual parts. Each cube stands for a thought, an emotion, or a feeling in a person's life. | The steel frame was waxed and polished to avoid oxidizing. This has two suspensions on the back for easy mounting on the wall.
