The work “human cubes WALL 99” has assembled the artist from 99 olive wood cubes. These were firmly joined together with beech wood dowels and glue. The surface of the olive wood is completely natural and rough, only the edges are ground. The frame is made of lime wood, which has been treated with a white oil. As a result, the wood retains its natural color and does not darken. The rear wall consists of an MDF plate with white acrylic paint. On the back there is a suspension for easy mounting on the wall. All sculptures by Manfred Hellweger are unique.

The Austrian sculptor Manfred Hellweger (*1986) lives and works in Pettneu am Arlberg and Nesselgarten near Fließ in Tyrol. In 2004, Manfred completed his training as a sculptor at the technical school for arts and crafts and design in Elbigenalp (Tyrol). Shortly afterwards he became self-employed as a freelance artist and in 2013 completed additional training as a stone sculptor at the technical school for stone processing in Laas (South Tyrol). Hellweger has already taken part in over 30 international sculpture symposiums and numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. His works are already represented by collectors worldwide, e.g. Japan, USA, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria. Manfred Hellweger’s creative process and inspiration: In his works, the artist deals with questions of meaning and values of existence, the world and people. His distinctive sculptures are primarily made from wood and metal. Cuboids, strips, boards or nails are connected together using different techniques to create a figurative or abstract shape that tapers downwards. Through this process, Manfred Hellweger’s sculptures appear to dissolve vertically and create a flowing dynamic. Here the artist refers to the constant change of our time. Everything changes and develops, nothing stays the same.
