The artist has firmly connected the individual, different lengths from local larches by means of an elaborate and time-intensive glue technique. The cavities between the strips provide insights into the interior, in some cases you can even see completely. In addition, a special dynamic is generated by the interplay of different lengths and distances of the strips, which seems to be constantly moving. | “human flow” was derived from the aphorism of the Greek natural philosophy Heraklit of Ephesos: “Pantha rhei” - Everything flows. Just as the water in the brook is always in motion, so all things, beings and phenomena in the world are always in change. Everything changes and develops, nothing remains as it is. | “Hyperion” comes from Greek mythology and is the name of one of the 82 previously known moons of Saturn. | All sculptures by Manfred Hellweger are unique.

The Austrian sculptor Manfred Hellweger (*1986) lives and works in Pettneu am Arlberg and Nesselgarten near Fließ in Tyrol. In 2004, Manfred completed his training as a sculptor at the technical school for arts and crafts and design in Elbigenalp (Tyrol). Shortly afterwards he became self-employed as a freelance artist and in 2013 completed additional training as a stone sculptor at the technical school for stone processing in Laas (South Tyrol). Hellweger has already taken part in over 30 international sculpture symposiums and numerous exhibitions at home and abroad. His works are already represented by collectors worldwide, e.g. Japan, USA, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria. Manfred Hellweger’s creative process and inspiration: In his works, the artist deals with questions of meaning and values of existence, the world and people. His distinctive sculptures are primarily made from wood and metal. Cuboids, strips, boards or nails are connected together using different techniques to create a figurative or abstract shape that tapers downwards. Through this process, Manfred Hellweger’s sculptures appear to dissolve vertically and create a flowing dynamic. Here the artist refers to the constant change of our time. Everything changes and develops, nothing stays the same.
