Jörg GALKA-TEISSEYRE

Since my early years I have been fascinated by decorating my place as well as other people’s homes combining colours and special paintbrush techniques in a rather unusual and very personal way. In 2013 I eventually combined my long-term decorating experience with contemporary abstract acrylic "3 dimensional pieces". In my artwork I widely use various objects and material such as gems, sequins, wood, metal, glass, glitter, nail enamel, paper etc. which I used to bring back from my flight destinations when I was still working as a flight-attendant inspiring me to create some unique artwork. Since 2015 I also make use of folded paper with various folding techniques – the more traditional Japanese style Origami fold as well as a much more contemporary and architectural way of paper folding. I also make a use of both techniques to create either a stand-alone work of art or to integrate the folded object into my artwork. Also in late 2015 I began using watercolours in some of my works, partially combined with other media to create some intriguing results. Ever since 2016 I employ metal wire as such or woven into a metal "cloth" giving some of my art works a kind of brutal aspect to it.
