"The aim of art is not to depict reality, but to create a world of its own."
Fernando Botero
I was born and raised in Germany/Franconia.
Since completing my studies in interior design, which was followed by a short detour into art therapy, I have lived in the Munich area.
After graduating, I worked as an interior designer and, at the same time, for several years as a lecturer in architectural perspective and descriptive geometry.
During this time, however, painting has always accompanied me and has become my main subject since 2017.
The fascination that painting exerts on me lies in the process of painting, in dealing with the picture. This enthusiasm I feel for painting, I also share for photography. It often forms the inspiration for my paintings.
When I'm out and about with my camera, I'm always looking for motifs, compositions, structures and interesting lines.
In these shots I am interested in the section, the detail, the play of colour, form and line.... the reduction and abstraction.
The freedom that arises from this abstraction, this encryption and alienation is more interesting to me than the depiction of the seemingly real.
My pictures are compositions of emotional spatial landscapes that draw on reality, but have been processed and reappear in a different form.
They are created by overlapping one layer with the next. In the process, orders for areas of color and forms, which are often also poured, alternate with a layer of line structures or writing and symbols and the incorporation of material and collage elements.
